GEO VPL Finance was established in 1994 by K. G. Lawrence, Chairman of the Geo Group, with the vision of providing reliable financial services to individuals and communities. The company began its journey as Geo V/P/L Financial Services at Thoppumpady, Kochi, and was incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956.
The Geo Group has a business legacy spanning more than 50 years, with businesses including Geo Seafoods and Geo VPL India Nidhi Ltd. Over the years, the group has established a strong presence across Kerala through its diverse business operations.
In 1995, GEO VPL Finance was granted NBFC status by the Reserve Bank of India. The company initially focused on short-term financial assistance against eligible gold jewellery, helping customers meet a wide range of personal and financial requirements.
With its growing presence in Kochi, GEO VPL Finance expanded its branch network from 2001 onwards. By 2009, it had established itself as an ISO-certified finance service provider in Kerala.
